Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of 4,5-dibromo-N-(thiazol-2-yl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide derivatives as novel DNA gyrase inhibitors

New 4,5-dibromopyrrolamides were prepared as ATPase inhibitors of DNA gyrase. Compounds were evaluated against Escherichia coli DNA gyrase in supercoiling assay. The most potent compound had an IC50 of 891 nM against E. coli DNA gyrase. Binding modes of inhibitors were studied by molecular docking.
