Timing and Go/No-Go tasks were performed under single- and dual-task conditions. The degree of inhibitory control required was manipulated in two experiments. The concurrent tasks exhibited a pattern of bidirectional interference. The greater the inhibitory control, the stronger the interference effect. Timing and inhibitory control compete for common attentional resources.
