A mouse model recapitulating liver inflammation associated with anti-HBV immunity was developed by hydrodynamic injection. In this model, nonspecific immune response potentially caused by injection was avoided by using a CpG-free plasmid. Comprehensive analysis showed the upregulation of Th1 genes and negative regulators to T cells in the inflamed liver. Aicda (AID), which contributes to noncytolytic immunity against HBV was also upregulated in hepatocytes via Tnf signaling.
