Membranes for ultrafiltration have been fabricated from acid/base polymer blends. The molecular interaction between polymers is greatly influenced by the HPEI amount. The phase inversion mechanism and membrane morphology change significantly. UF membranes vary in swelling ratio, mechanical strength, UF performance, etc. 0.3HPEI/sPPSU membrane exhibits the highest stability and best UF performance.
