Résumé

L’enfant accueilli par le biais d’une adoption internationale est un « étranger » à double titre : comme support des projections parentales inconscientes (comme tout enfant, y compris les enfants biologiques) d’une part, et du fait de l’étrangeté ethnique souvent en cause dans ce cadre, d’autre part. Après avoir rappelé les principales représentations parentales concernant l’enfant à venir, l’auteur propose alors de penser la procédure d’agrément comme une sorte d’équivalent imaginaire et symbolique de la grossesse psychique habituelle.

Summary

The foster child through an intercountry adoption is a “foreigner” in two ways: as a support for parental unconscious projections (as any child, including biological children) on the one hand, and because of the strangeness ethnic often involved in this framework in the other hand. After recalling the main parental representations concerning the unborn child, the author then proposes to think the approval procedure as a kind of imaginary and symbolic equivalent of the usual psychic pregnancy.
