The behaviour of casting interfaces subjected to shear and bending is experimentally assessed. The shear and bending strengths of beams are not affected by the presence of a casting interface. The bending ductility is reduced if the interface is located in the plastic hinge region. Friction strength reduction is significant after the yielding of longitudinal reinforcement. Code design expressions disregard the friction strength and ductility reductions.
