文摘
We examine female participation in intergroup conflicts in a wild primate. Females defended access to both valuable food resources and valuable areas. The benefits gained from participating varied with rank (priority of access). Females with infants appeared sensitive to the risk intergroup conflicts posed. Support from male group members may decrease the perceived risks (i.e. costs).
