We conducted an interlaboratory study on efficient detection for Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli.

Serogroups O26, O103, O111, O121, O145, and O157 were detected in inoculated food.

The developed real-time PCR assays showed high sensitivity.

Plating after immunomagnetic separation onto agars showed high sensitivity.

Efficient, rapid and sensitive detection methods for the six STEC were established.
