Investigation using localised SVET into protection at defects in epoxy coated mild steel under intermittent cathodic protection simulating inter-tidal and splash zones
In-situ SVET was used to study corrosion at defects in epoxy-coated mild steel under intermittent cathodic protection. Calcareous films were formed under intermittent cathodic protection simulating inter-tidal and splash zone conditions. Calcareous films were protective under intermittent wetting conditions and only failed when physically damaged.
