Effect of swine based probiotic on performance, diarrhoea scores, intestinal microbiota and gut health of grower-finisher crossbred pigs
文摘
A positive impact was achieved on growth performance (P<0.05), intestinal microbiota (P<0.001) and intestinal morphology by supplementation of swine origin probiotics (Pediococcus acidilactici strain FT28) and dairy origin probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus NCDC-15) in grower-finisher pigs. Fecal lactic acid concentration was increased (P=0.003) in P. acidilactici strain FT28 fed group compared to other dietary groups with decreased (P<0.001) NH3-N and pH. Incidence of diarrhoea was lowered (P<0.05) in piglets whereas, host origin probiotic performed better (P<0.05) than dairy origin probiotic in decreasing diarrhoea scores.
