Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is not due to vitamin A metabolism toxicity. Some vitamin A metabolite levels in IIH patients differ from obese normal subjects. Acetazolamide treatment, a proven therapy of IIH, appears to also alter vitamin A metabolism.
