Asymmetric kaolin membrane was successfully prepared via phase inversion/sintering method. Porosity and thickness of the membranes decreased when sintering temperature increased. Excellent oily wastewater rejection was obtained due to its superhydrophilic surface. Kaolin hollow fibre membrane was regarded as a promising medium for oily wastewater separation.
