The EuCl ionomer in aqueous media presents two different populations of nanoparticle, corresponding to proximally 15 nm and 150 nm. The EuCl ionomer in aqueous media may form different structure depending on the pH and polymer concentration, which tends to form flocculated aggregates in high pH and concentrations. The formation of an in situ interfacial polymer-drug complex was demonstrated, which could slightly reduce the hydrolytic degradation of the drug and affecting its solubility in aqueous media, mainly under acidic conditions.
