Generalized epilepsy syndromes and callosal thickness: Differential effects between patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and those with generalized tonic-clonic seizures alone
Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) is assumed to have normal cerebral features. Corpus callosum morphology was studied with high regional specificity in JME. Significant callosal aberrations were detected in JME patients compared to controls. JME may constitute an epilepsy syndrome with specific anatomical characteristics.
