This article describes the background Dand content of the law transposing directive 2011/24/EU in Poland. The article focuse on the barriers to accessing healthcare abroad within the directive imposed by the Polish government. The article analyses the volume of patient mobility under the directive and demonstrates that the government’s fear of the ‘exodus’ of Polish patients abroad have been largely unwarranted.
