We combine two lines of research on inventive and creative performance that have been separated before. Based on theoretical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAO) model. Survey information with career data plus psychometric tests linked with patent history data for more than 1000 inventors. Education, skills, personality, career motivation, ability and problem solving style are significantly related to inventive performance.
