The wall heat flux modeling of n-heptane fueled direct injection (DI) diesel engine was performed.

The coupled computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and artificial neural network (ANN) approach was developed.

A 6-17-1 ANN topology yielded the MSE equal to 0.5217 and R2 equal to 0.99.
