We examined the causal role of earnings and cash benefit on reunification. Higher earnings are modestly associated with a lower probability of reunification. No statistically significant impact of cash benefit income is detected. Findings suggest hardships in keeping low-wage jobs and complying with child welfare. Further research is warranted exploring the causal role of employment.
