Evaluation of the Tobacco Heating System 2.2. Part 6: 90-day OECD 413 rat inhalation study with systems toxicology endpoints demonstrates reduced exposure effects of a mentholated version compared with mentholated and non-mentholated cigarette smoke
Toxicological assessment of a mentholated heat-not-burn product,THS2.2M. THS2.2M aerosol induces no pulmonary inflammation. THS2.2M causes lower changes in respiratory tract than smoke from reference. Gene and protein expression data showed no new adverse effects of THS2.2M aerosol. Addition of menthol to reference cigarette does not alter the toxicity of smoke.
