Biokinetics of food grade bulk and nano SiO2 particles were studied. Glucose and albumin interacted with SiO2 surface in a different manner. Oral absorption of nano SiO2 was greater than bulk counterpart. Oral absorption of nano SiO2 was affected by interaction with food components. Intestinal transport of nano SiO2 by M cells contributed to enhanced oral absorption.
