New material Ba1−xSrxCo0.7Fe0.2Nb0.1O3−δ are used as cathodes for IT-SOFCs.

Two processes determine the electrode reaction for BSCFN-30SDC composite cathode.

Charge transfer process is the rate limiting step at higher PO2.

Adsorption and dissociation process is the rate limiting step at lower PO2.

BSCFN-xSDC composite cathode has higher power density than BSCFN cathode.
