Insulin induced FASN transcription was accompanied by local histone modification. SREBP-1c and ChREBP could affect histone modification of the FASN gene in the setting of high insulin levels. Histone acetylation affects FASN transcription by influencing transcription factor and target gene binding. Reveal the potential importance of the transcription factor ChREBP in NAFLD.
