Lamellar structured and ultrafine grained dual-phase (UFG DP) steel is produced. The UFG DP steel exhibits high resistance to hydrogen embrittlement (HE). Delamination along lamellar structure contributes to high resistance to HE. Grain refinement enhances hydrogen embrittlement property of DP steel. A model based on fracture mechanics explains the delamination well.
