The synchronization in two mechanical oscillators harmonically excited in a counter phase and coupled by impacts is studied.

We focus on synchronous and asynchronous motions of the system.

One- and two-parameter bifurcations are studied by means of continuation technique.

The regimes for anti-phase synchronization are identified.

The symmetry-breaking bifurcation dominates the transition from synchronous to asynchronous motion.
