Characterization of depositional conditions for lacustrine oil shales in the Eocene Jijuntun Formation, Fushun Basin, NE China
文摘
Depositional conditions were reconstructed by using multiple geochemical proxies. Lean oil shales (OS) were deposited in ~ 20–30 m deep, (sub)oxic, fresh-water lakes. Rich OS were formed in ~ 100 m deep, anoxic, fresh- to mildly brackish-water lakes. Climate evolved from warm/humid into warm/humid to cool/arid conditions. Different organic matter types are reflected by biomarkers and trace elements.
