β-Ti3O5 powder was synthesized by carbothermal reduction of anatase TiO2 in vacuum.

The reduction processing, structure and electrical properties were discussed.

β-Ti3O5 powders gas sensitivity was investigated by experimental and DFT simulation.

β-Ti3O5 showed good thermal stability and favorable gas sensitivity toward O2/H2.
