Three novel pyranoluteolinidins were successful obtained. The dyes present a wide spectrum of colors: λmax 460 (7); 496 (8); 550 nm (9), pH∼1. The pigments were structurally characterized by LC-DAD/ESI-MS and NMR techniques. The synthesized pigments share in common the catechol group in the B-ring. The dyes possess different groups linked to the D-ring [Me, catechol, 4-N(Me)2Ph].
