Sex hormones (SH) are relevant regulators of the choroid plexus (CP) transcriptome. Genes related to CSF production, barrier and immune functions are SH targets. SH regulate CP genes for chemical surveillance and detoxification pathways. Neurogenic factors and circadian rhythm related genes are the main SH targets in CP.
