We examined the relationship between anxiety and risk-taking behavior.

The outcome likelihoods were manipulated to be relatively ambiguous or unambiguous.

When likelihoods were ambiguous, high anxiety predicted less risk taking.

When likelihoods were unambiguous, anxiety and risk taking were unrelated.
