At in situ temperature, Cu impacted structure and activity of phototrophic biofilms.

Cu effects were reduced with increasing temperature (from +5 °C to +15 °C).

The decrease in Cu effects may be related to lower Cu bioaccumulation in biofilms.

Changes in diatom assemblages also suggested co-tolerance to Cu and temperature.
