Enantioselective separation of carvedilol by RP–HPLC–MS/MS and chiral stationary-phase column has been developed.

Excellent resolution of carvedilol enantiomers is achived.

The chiral stationary-phase columns and the impact factors for seperation and MS response are detailed.

Compared to the reported methods, the present method is simpler, more rapid and sensitive.

This method was successfully applied to quantify plasma samples from a phase I clinical trial of carvedilol.
