4-PSQ, a novel multitarget compound, elicited anxiolytic-like behavior in mice. 4-PSQ reduced glutamate uptake in cerebral cortices. 4-PSQ protected against KA-induced anxiety-related behavior. 4-PSQ did not exert toxicity in mice. 4-PSQ did not alter parameters of oxidative stress in brain and liver of mice.
