Closed form solution for the analysis of bi-concave cable trusses that includes temperature effects Tension forces in the cables are very sensitive to temperature changes. Temperature increase causes loss of tension in the cables. The latter is susceptible of causing loss of stability. Low temperatures and the loss of ductility of certain materials could result in catastrophic failure. The choice of material is of paramount importance in the design of cable trusses.
