Ni47Mn40Sn13&plusmn;x (x = 0, 0.5, 1) shape memory alloy prepared by mechanical alloying technique. Vacancy is a new parameter that can modify structural and magnetic transitions. By creating Sn vacancy and excess Sn doping, the martensitic transformation temperature decreases. In addition to e/a, it appears that stress and defect can have an effect on MT temperature.
