Microwave synthesis of silver nanoparticles cored in poly vinyl alcohol nanocapsules (Ag-PVA NCs). Ag-PVA NCs reinforced chitosan matrix used for mechanically tuned coating on titanium implant. Coating expressed intrinsic property of biofilm inhibition due to AgNP presence. Achievement of dual tuned drug release due to differential entrapment of drug in PVA polymeric shell of AgNPs and CS matrix. Adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of osteoblast tests demonstrated the efficacy of Ag-PVA NCs.
