We identified 32 protein changes in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) of rat dams. The most abundant clusters are: synaptic transport and plasticity, neuron development. Common regulators are growth factors and cytokines, common target the MAP kinases. A number of proteins altered in the mPFC are associated with depression. Increase of alpha-crystallin B chain was confirmed, and shown in parvalbumin cells.
