Ser-43 of Raf-1 was phosphorylated by cGMP treatment in rat chondrosarcoma cells. Forskolin stimulated the phosphorylation of Raf-1 at Ser-259 in addition to Ser-43. PKGII phosphorylated Raf-1 at Ser-43 in a cGMP-dependent manner. Phosphorylation of Raf-1 at Ser-43 suppressed FGF2-induced MAPK activation.
