H2 production from sorption enhanced steam reforming of biogas using multifunctional catalysts of Ni over Zr-, Ce- and La-modified CaO sorbents

Zr2+, Ce2+ and La3+ are doped on CaO for improving its CO2 capture. Zr-CaO and Ce-CaO show stable CO2 capture activity for at least 10 cycles. Their improved stability is enhanced by oxygen storage capacity at low temperatures. Multifunctional catalysts were tested for sorption enhanced biogas steam reforming. Ni-Zr-CaO and Ni-Ce-CaO deliver a stable H2 purity over multiple cycle operations.
