Amplitudes of ERPs elicited by task-irrelevant auditory probes were examined.

Probes were presented while participants drove a vehicle in a simulator system.

Variation of N1 amplitude was similar to that of driving pleasure.

Variation of P2 amplitude was similar to that of driving difficulty.

Results suggest that ERPs can separately assess driving pleasure and difficulty.
