Kindling resistance was overcome by the administration of supra-threshold stimuli, with a delayed progression to stage 5 in GAERS.

GAERS displayed a significant increase in hippocampal excitability at stage 2.

The paired-pulse despression (PPD) was more pronounced on CA1 synapses of control GAERS than in the control Wistar rats.

There was a decrease in PPD in the Wistar rats as the kindling progress has advanced, and reached at its highest grade upon achievement of stage 5.
