A total of 2129 genes were differentially expressed by exposure to Pb, Cd, and Hg. Approximately 425 altered genes were common in heavy metal-exposed subjects. Among the 425 shared genes, 382 were upregulated, whereas 43 were downregulated. Chronic kidney diseases are the most significant and enriched renal diseases affected. IPA analysis identified the activation of two significant upstream regulators, MYCN and MYC.
