Triticale straw is a potential lignocellulosic feedstock for bioethanol production. Four cellulases were evaluated for hydrolysis of steam-exploded triticale straw. Small-scale SSF of 15% WIS with 15 FPU Spezyme® CP/g cellulose was most effective. High-gravity SSF with 15% WIS produced 29.31 g/l ethanol (84.7% yield).
