CeO2/3DOM LaFeO3 oxygen carrier shows high activity and stability for the coproduction of syngas and hydrogen by chemical-looping reforming of methane (CLRM).
The presence of CeO2 nano particles (2–3 nm) on 3DOM LaFeO3 induce greater formation of oxygen vacancies, which strongly improves the reducibility, oxygen mobility and the resistance towards carbon formation.
The design of efficient oxygen carriers for CLRM must consider the balance among the concentration of active sites for recants activation, the oxygen diffusivity and the available OSC.
