Structural, thermal, and optical analysis of zinc boro-aluminosilicate glasses containing different alkali and alkaline modifier ions

Alkali and alkaline oxides introduced B2O3 –SiO2 –Al2O3–ZnO glasses were studied. BO4, BO3, Si-O-Si, Al-O-Al, and ZnO4 structural units were identified. All synthesized glasses show good thermal and glass stabilities. Direct and indirect optical band gaps were evaluated from absorption spectra.
