Stomach contents of six fish species which are typically taken as bycatch in the squid fishery on the Patagonian shelf and slope were examined. Squid remains discarded by the fishery represented some 20–40 % by volume of the diet of Merluccius hubbsi, Patagononotothen ramsayi and Macrourus holotrachys.
