Wide tuning range fiber laser source using new double linear cavity techniques

A wide range fiber laser source is experimentally reported in this paper. The fiber laser source is constructed from two branches splitted by coupler band splitter to form broader laser source. The double linear topology is used either for wide lasing source or generation of two simultaneous wavelengths tuned independently. The achieved crucial results are mainly based on the use of the new techniques which called double linear cavity laser. A wide range of 80 nm spectrum is tuned from 1525 nm to 1605 nm, with maximum output power of 13.21 dBm. An average high side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of about 68 dB is recorded for the whole tuning spectrum.
