The fracture toughness of the octet lattice varies between KJIC=2–14MPam1/2. KJIC increased linearly with relative density and square root of the cell size. A moderate R-curve effect is seen with crack growth for certain geometries. The measured strength is 20–70 MPa for these 8–19% relative density samples. These properties exceed all other engineering materials of similar density.
