Citizen scientists measured shoreline quality at 28 Montreal riverine parks. Water nutrients and turbidity (field kit) and beach-cast vegetation were assessed. Beach litter quantity and type provided an estimate of parks' utilization. Shoreline quality was not correlated with city measurements of faecal coliforms. Overall, half of the parks were classified as “good” and only 4 parks as “poor”.
