A saline soil was reclaimed refilling with a gravel–sand layer at 100–120 cm depth.

Effects on Chinese rose of different saline irrigation waters were studied.

Salt stress had the greatest impact on relative leaf water deficit value.

Rose was proportionally more deeply rooted when subject to salinity.

Rose dry matter decreased as Na increased, and as the K/Na ratio decreased.
