Light absorption by PM10 collected on four types of archived filters was investigated. The relationship between reflectance and transmittance differed by filter type. Relationships between collocated carbon concentrations and absorbance were non-linear. Quantitative relationships were developed to calculate equivalent black carbon concentrations.
